About this Mod

Core Features
- Players can flag or unflag themselves to opt into PVP
- Both players must be flagged for PVP to occur
- Admins can create areas for PVP that will flag players when they enter the area (warning as you get close).
- Nametag overlay for visible PVP indicator
- Unflagging yourself is not instant. Will be unflagged in 15 seconds. This is configurable
- When waiting to be unflagged if you deliver or take player damage your unflag request will be cancelled.
- Logging out auto cancels your unflag request
- Honors Minecraft teams settings
Commands
- /pvpFlag to toggle, or /pvpFlag [on | off | status] sets your pvp state
- /pvpZone [add | remove | list] allow admins to define PVP zones and the size of the warning area around them.
Setup
- Set pvp=true in Minecraft's server.properties and pvp flagging will do the rest (this is the default)
- For single player open to lan worlds no setup is required

How to Install PVP Flagging on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "PVP Flagging". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

PVP Flagging server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Server lagging with PVP Flagging – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if PVP Flagging consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
