About this Mod
In older versions of Pocket Edition, renaming items prevented them from despawning. However, Mojang saw this as more of a bug than a feature and ended up patching it.
This datapack makes it so items cannot despawn when renamed in an anvil. Long story short, 
now!
How does this work? This datapack runs a function every 5 minutes to check for any item with their minecraft:custom_name component changed, and when it does, it resets its despawn timer.

How to Install R.I.P. - Renamed Items Persist on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set datapack Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "R.I.P. - Renamed Items Persist". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
