Villager Brain

Villager Brain makes villages feel alive.

Villagers no longer stand around all day.
They do visible job routines, use their work areas, and place small decorations near their job site that change over time.

Villager Jobs (click to expand)

Fisherman
  • Walks to water and fishes during work time
  • Casts and retrieves the line
  • Stores caught fish in nearby barrels
Cartographer
  • Leaves the workstation for short exploration walks
  • Returns to the workstation after exploring
  • Places a map in an item frame near the workstation
  • Replaces the shown map over time
Librarian
  • Works at and around lecterns
  • Places an item in an item frame near the workstation
  • Replaces that displayed item over time
Butcher
  • Hunts adult cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and rabbits inside pens
  • Slaughters only when enough animals are left per species
  • Picks up dropped meat/leather automatically and keeps the butcher area stocked
  • Near the end of the workday, puts pen animals into breeding mode for new offspring
Shepherd
  • Walks to nearby sheep with shears in hand
  • Shears adult sheep that are ready for shearing
  • Picks up dropped wool after shearing
Cleric
  • Uses brewing-stand themed workstation behavior
  • Keeps cleric workplaces active with daily routine actions
Armorer, Toolsmith, Weaponsmith
  • Place armor stands near the workstation
  • Equip those armor stands with armor, tools, or weapons
  • Replace the equipped items over time
Leatherworker
  • Places armor stands near the workstation
  • Equips those armor stands with dyed leather armor
  • Replaces the shown armor over time
Mason
  • Walks to the stonecutter workstation during work time
  • Places one mason block near the workstation
  • Replaces that block over time
Fletcher
  • Walks to the fletching workstation during work time
  • Places a target block near the workstation
  • Places an item frame with arrows near the workstation
  • Shoots arrows at the target during work hours
  • Replaces the shown arrow over time

Daily Decoration System

Villagers set up small job-themed decorations near their workstation:

  • item frames with job-related items
  • armor stands with job-related gear
  • profession-themed display blocks

These decorations are updated over time, so workplaces do not look the same every day.


Command

  • /villagerbrain debug
    Turns a glowing outline on/off for villagers that are currently running this mod’s behaviors, so you can visually check that the mod is working (operator permission required).

  • /villagerbrain showcase on
    showcase placement on (item frames, armor stands, blocks)

  • /villagerbrain showcase off
    placement off broken pieces not replaced; fishing etc. unchanged

How to Install Real Working Villagers on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1.2).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Real Working Villagers". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
