About this Mod
SafeSquares
SafeSquares is a mod for Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 that adds a light-level overlay on top of blocks, in the style of
the "safe" mod from Zombe's Modpack.
When enabled with the hotkey (L by default), blocks that monsters can spawn on will be highlighted with a red
cross, or a yellow cross if they can only spawn there during night.

Configuration
The mod's keyboard shortcut (L by default) can be configured in the in-game Controls menu. All other settings
can be configured in-game (if Mod Menu Babric is installed) or in.minecraft/config/safesquares/safesquares.yml.

How to Install SafeSquares on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set babric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the babric loader and matching Minecraft version (b1.7.3).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "SafeSquares". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

SafeSquares server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong babric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (b1.7.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is SafeSquares compatible with babric and fabric?
SafeSquares officially supports babric, fabric for Minecraft b1.7.3. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with SafeSquares – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if SafeSquares consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
