About this Mod
Tooltips in Minecraft can get long. Really long. Especially with mods that add detailed item descriptions, enchantment lists, or additional information. When a tooltip extends beyond the screen, you simply can't see everything.
Scrollable Tooltips fixes this by letting you scroll through any tooltip that exceeds a configurable height. Hold the scroll key (Left Ctrl by default) and use your mouse wheel to scroll up and down through the tooltip content. The tooltip appears in a fixed-size container, but now you can actually read everything.
Features
- Scroll through long tooltips using the mouse wheel
- Configurable maximum tooltip height
- Configurable scroll speed
- Optional scroll indicators showing when more content exists above or below
- Customizable keybind (default: Left Ctrl) - can be changed in Controls settings or disabled entirely
- Works with tooltips from other mods
- Client-side only
Available for NeoForge, Forge, and Fabric.

Scrollable Tooltips server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Scrollable Tooltips compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?
Scrollable Tooltips officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Scrollable Tooltips – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Scrollable Tooltips consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
