Selective Mining

Selective Mining

This mod, when enabled, prevents breaking blocks other than the initial type you mined. Which is pretty useful when you break blocks really fast.

About this Mod

How to use?

  • Setup a keybind to enable/disable this mod.
  • Start mining to break a block, now you'll only mine blocks of that same type or state!
  • Stop mining for a moment to choose a new block to focus on.

Why would you want this mod?

  • To focus on mining valuable resources without wasting time and durability on unwanted blocks.
  • To target specific blocks without accidentally mining other blocks. This can be particularly useful when mining in tight spaces or trying to preserve the surrounding environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Selective Mining server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Selective Mining compatible with fabric?

Selective Mining officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.4, 1.21.3, 1.21.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Selective Mining – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Selective Mining consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
