About this Mod

Shader Reload

A mod that allows vanilla shader reloading with F3+R, made for fabric loader.

Meant to be used while developing resourcepacks using vanilla shaders:

  • Reloads much faster than F3+T, especially with large resourcepacks.

  • Won't remove resourcepacks if an exception is found while loading.

  • Displays shader parse exceptions in chat so you don't have to be constantly looking at the game logs.

  • Makes the game handle linker errors closer to how it handles compile errors.

Gone are the days of waiting for two loading screens before having to navigate the options menu for the fifth time in a row!

Frequently Asked Questions

Shader Reload server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Shader Reload compatible with fabric?

Shader Reload officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21, 1.20.6. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Shader Reload – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Shader Reload consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
