About
Shadow Player is a server side Carpet mod orchestrator that maintains a 'shadow' version of a player when they disconnect from the server, preserving their presence. This way, players can stay online forever on the server as long as they are alive, even if they log out. The mod might be useful for creating cool challenges or unique survival scenarios where logging out doesn’t guarantee safety - anything you can do to an AFK player, you can also do to their fake shadow presence as well.
Installation
How to Install the Mod:
- Download the latest version of the mod along with any required dependencies.
- Place the mod files into your server's "mods" folder.
- Restart the server to load the mod.
- That's it — you're ready to go!

Extra Idea:
You can add mod that removes join and leave msgs and nobody will know if its a real or shadow player.

The Shadow Player Mod will support all Fabric versions from 1.21 to 1.21.5 by April 10th 2025!

How to Install Shadow Player on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.5).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Shadow Player". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Shadow Player server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.5). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Shadow Player compatible with fabric?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Shadow Player consumes the most tick time.
