About this Mod

This mod adds two Redstone blocks; the Snap Detector and the Toggled Snap Detector. The Snap Detector emits a Redstone pulse when a player presses the configurable keybind ( by default, H ). The Toggled Snap Detector does the same but toggles on and off like a lever.

When a player snaps using the keybind, all detectors within 15 blocks trigger. If you place a comparator near a Snap or Toggled Snap Detector, it will output how far away the snap originated.

Other players on servers can also hear your snaps.

This project requires Fabric API.

Frequently Asked Questions

SnapStone server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is SnapStone compatible with fabric?

SnapStone officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.19, 1.17.1, 1.17. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with SnapStone – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if SnapStone consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
