About this Mod
Sound Sign
Play sounds using signs and powered noteblocks!
How to use
Place a sign on a noteblock - it must be a wall sign - and input a sound id (you can use the first three lines for this!). on the fourth line, input the delay (in ticks) before repeating - by default this is 20 ticks/1 second. You can input -1 to only play once per powering.
You can also use written books!
Simularly to the sign, place a item frame on the noteblock, inside this itemframe you will want to place a written book, the contents of this book are used as the id (if there's not enough room on one page, continue writing on the next!). Input the delay when signing the book!
Once you power the noteblock, the sounds will start playing!
please note, whilst this has only been tested in singleplayer, this should technically work on the client or the server. this will be updated once tested.

Sound Sign server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Sound Sign compatible with fabric and quilt?
Sound Sign officially supports fabric, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.6. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Sound Sign – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Sound Sign consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
