About this Mod

🕵️ StaffDetector Features

Global Vanish Tracker – Detects in real-time when a staff member enters vanish mode. The mod monitors the player list (TAB) and alerts you instantly if someone hides without actually disconnecting from the server—works regardless of distance!

Advanced Rank Detection – Don't be fooled by custom fonts or fancy formatting. The mod uses Unicode Normalization and Scoreboard Team scanning to detect keywords like Admin, Mod, Staff, even when written with special characters (ᴍᴏᴅ), complex gradients, or decorative symbols («Staff»).

Proximity Heuristics – Logs anomalies around you that give away invisible players:

Suspicious Sounds: Detects footstep sounds or interactions where no visible player exists.

Ghost Particles: Tracks sprint or hit particles coming from invisible entities.

Block Updates: Alerts you if someone opens a chest or interacts with a block near you without being present.

Spectator Alert (Anti-Watch) – An intelligent system that analyzes network packet priority. If your entity starts receiving unusually frequent updates from the server, the mod warns you that a Spectator is likely focused on you, tracking your every move.

Native UI & HUD – Keep track of detected staff at all times with a sleek HUD overlay. Configure the mod through an intuitive screen using Minecraft's native textures to toggle each detection method.

Invisible Entity Detection – Scans nearby entity metadata to find players who have the Invisibility flag active but are still being sent to your client by the server.

Config menu

Config Screen – Toggle panel for each detection type (Vanish, Particles, Sounds, etc.) and a customizable keyword list.

In-Game HUD – Side-list showing detected staff names and the specific reason they were flagged.

Critical Alert – On-screen message and warning sound when a staff member is closely observing you.

🔧 Requirements

Fabric Loader ≥ 0.16.10
> Fabric API
> Java 21
> Minecraft 1.21.8

🎮 How to use

Install the mod and ensure you have the required dependencies.

Open the config screen (default keybind in Controls menu).

Configure Keywords: Add specific ranks used by your server (e.g., Admin, Support, Vip+).

Enable your preferred detection modules. We recommend keeping Vanish Tracker and Spectator Watch always on.

Watch the HUD and chat; the mod will provide red-text alerts whenever a suspicious event is detected.

🛡️ Staff Watch Alert (Sensors & Triggers)

When the mod detects multiple suspicious signals, the cumulative scoring system triggers the "STAFF IS WATCHING YOU" critical alert. These are the sensors feeding the alert:

Vanish Event (Instant Alert): Triggered immediately if a known staff member disappears from the TAB list. This is the strongest signal and causes an instant alert.

Entity Packet Spike: Detects if the server is prioritizing network data for your own entity. A sudden spike in updates for your player model usually means a spectator has their camera locked onto you.

Camera Aberrations: Detects server-forced position resets or camera "jerks" while you are standing still, often caused by a staff member teleporting to your coordinates.

Invisible Entity Flags: Tracks players within your render distance who have the "Invisible" metadata bit active in their network packets.

Ghost Particles (Proximity): Detects crit particles, enchanted hits, or smoke effects occurring near you without any visible player nearby to cause them.

Suspicious Sounds: Logs footstep sounds, chest openings, or block breaks at your exact location when no visible players are present.

Chunk Re-sends: Detects if the server re-sends chunk data for a block you already have loaded while you are stationary—a telltale sign of an external spectator camera forcing a reload.

⚠️ Disclaimer (BETA)

This mod is currently in BETA. This means:

It may contain technical bugs or unexpected crashes.

False Positives: Since the mod uses heuristics (data-based assumptions), you might receive false alerts in areas with heavy redstone, complex ambient sound effects, or laggy server conditions.

This mod is strictly client-side. The use of staff detection tools may be prohibited on certain servers.

Use at your own risk. I am not responsible for bans or sanctions applied by server administrators.

Frequently Asked Questions

Staff Detector server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.8). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Staff Detector compatible with fabric?

Staff Detector officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.8. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Staff Detector – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Staff Detector consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
