StoneTextures
This mod automatically installs the StoneCraft resourcepack without having any additional loading screens on startup.
About this Mod
NOTE
This mod and the resulting resourcepack is supposed to be used on StoneCraft! It probably won't do anything useful on other servers!
Why?
When hosting a Minecraft server you can specify a resourcepack url. On more recent versions of Minecraft you can even force players to download the resourcepack. However this isn't a viable solution for everyone!
The problem comes when hosting modded Minecraft servers. Forcing a resourcepack on a modded client leads to a very long loading screen. To make things worse, this loading screen happens every time you join and leave the server.
Of course you can just not force the resourcepack and make people download the pack manually.
But what happens when you want to add more textures to the resourcpack? You would have to tell players to download it again and replace it.
The problem should be clear by now so let's talk about what this mod actually does.
What does this mod do?
When you start your Minecraft client with this mod installed, it will automatically download the resourcepack from a Dropbox Link. It will then apply the resourcepack like any other normal resourcepack. This makes it so you always have the most recent version of the textures when launching your client. Due to the resourcepack being applied on startup there are also no additional loading screens of any kind making this the ideal solution!
