Stricthotbar
StrictHotbar stops the hotbar from looping. It locks the scrolling at the first and last slots for better precision. No more accidental scrolling from slot 9 back to slot 1 during intense gameplay!
About this Mod
🛡️ StrictHotbar Take Control of Your Scrolling
Tired of accidentally scrolling past the end of your hotbar during an intense fight or a complex build? StrictHotbar is a lightweight, highly effective Quality-of-Life mod for Fabric that solves this exact problem.
❓ What does this mod do?
In vanilla Minecraft, the hotbar "loops": If you are on Slot 9 (far right) and scroll right again, you instantly land back on Slot 1 (far left). This often leads to overshooting your target item and selecting the wrong tool at the worst possible moment.
StrictHotbar puts an end to this. The mod introduces a "hard boundary" to your scrolling logic:
Scrolling left stops firmly at Slot 1.
Scrolling right stops firmly at Slot 9.
"Looping through" to the other end is no longer possible via the mouse wheel.
✨ Key Features
Maximum Precision: Gain full muscle memory control. When you scroll "all the way left," you can be 100% sure you are holding your sword or primary tool without even looking at the screen.
Competitive Advantage: Perfect for PvP! Avoid those embarrassing moments where you accidentally pull out your food instead of your weapon because you scrolled one notch too far.
Ultra Lightweight: Built using high-efficiency Mixins, this mod has zero impact on your FPS and adds no overhead to your game.
Zero Configuration: Just install and play. The mod does exactly what it promises right out of the box, with no complex menus or setup required.
🛠️ Technical Background
The mod hooks directly into Minecraft's input logic (Mouse.onMouseScroll) to intercept the scroll event before the game changes the selected slot. By utilizing an Access Widener, it communicates safely with Minecraft's internal inventory system to ensure stability and compatibility with other mods.
