About this Mod
Feature Overview
- This mod adds two new blocks to Minecraft: Sulfur Ore and Potassium Ore.
- It is meant to be a vanilla friendly way to craft more gunpowder.
- Sulfur drops raw sulfur. It can be found in both overworld and nether. It has a higher spawn rate in the nether.
- Potassium drops raw potassium, just other minerals, and can be smelted into potassium. It can only be found in the overworld
- With 1 Sulfur and 1 Potassium you can craft 2 Gunpowder!
Generation
- Potassium spawns between y=[6, 56] and y=[70, max]. Larger ore veins are found in the highest part.
- Overworld Sulfur spawns between y=[min, 5] (only in deepslate).
- Nether Sulfur spawns everywhere and comes in larger ore veins
Configuration
Config is located in the /config folder as usual and it is called: sulfurpotassiummod.json
Enabled/Disabled values are: 0 for disabled and 1 for enabled.

How to Install Sulfur and Potassium on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Sulfur and Potassium". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Sulfur and Potassium server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Sulfur and Potassium compatible with fabric and forge?
Sulfur and Potassium officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21, 1.19.3. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Sulfur and Potassium – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Sulfur and Potassium consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
