This is a collection of small features that I find useful or fun when playing in my survival world.

Shovelable Snow: Right-clicking with shovels can now reduce the level of snow layers.

Faster Minecarts: Increased Minecart maximum speed.

Zombie Horses: Striking Horses with Lightning turns them into Zombie Horses, which are now rideable and tamable.

Armor Swapping: Armor & Elytra can be swapped from the hotbar, like Bedrock Edition.

Feathery Falling Boots: Feather Falling Boots do not break Farmland.

Drop More Experience: Players drop much more experience on death, scalable to their level.

Snowy Leaves: Leaves turn white (grayish) when it snows.

Colorful Sheep: Sheep can rarely spawn with any colors.

Larger Slimes: Slimes & Magma Cubes can spawn one size larger than normal.

More Snacks: Glow Berries, Sweet Berries, and Cookies are eaten faster.

Random Times: Freshly generated worlds can begin at any time of day.

Random Biomes: Players can spawn in any biome when generating a fresh world.

Random Weather: Freshly generated worlds can begin during any weather event.

Safe Cactus: Cactus items are not destroyed by Cactus blocks.

Never Break Eyes: Eyes of Ender never break.

Rocket Boosting: Rockets boost when riding in vehicles or mounts.

Editable Signs: Signs can be re-edited.

Better Night Vision: Night Vision is affected by its amplifier.

True Multishot: Multishot supports more levels, and shoots more arrows.

More Tridents: Tridents have a higher drop rate from Drowned.

Never Too Expensive Repairs: Anvils will never say a repair is Too Expensive.

Variant Spawners: Dungeons in certain biomes replace their Spawner mob with more fitting ones. Zombies in Oceans > Drowned, Zombies in hot biomes > Husks, Skeletons in cold biomes > Strays.

Boats Ignore Waterlilies: Boats do not collide with Lily Pads, but they still break them.

Polar Bear Jockeys: Polar Bears have a low chance to spawn with a Stray riding them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Survivality server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Survivality compatible with fabric and forge?

Survivality officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.4, 1.20.2, 1.20.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Survivality – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Survivality consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
