About this Mod
Target HUD is a tiny client-side overlay that gives you instant info on whatever your crosshair is pointing at.
- Aim at any entity within 6 blocks and a clean panel appears just above the crosshair.
- Shows the entity's name and, for named (nametagged) entities, the underlying type on a second line.
- For mobs/players/animals (anything with HP): a horizontal health bar that fills proportionally to current HP, plus exact numeric HP ("18 / 20 HP").
- The bar color reflects state of health - green above 66 %, yellow 33-66 %, red below 33 %.
- The name is color-coded by category:
- red - hostile mob (zombie, skeleton, creeper, ...)
- yellow - other players
- green - passive or neutral living entity (cow, sheep, villager, wolf, ...)
- white - non-living entity (item frame, painting, boat, minecart, ...)
- The panel hides automatically when you look away, open a screen, or press F1 (HUD-hidden).
- Toggle the whole feature with K.

Target HUD server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Target HUD compatible with fabric?
Target HUD officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Target HUD – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Target HUD consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
