About this Mod

Minecraft has some behaviour that is special-cased on macOS, so that it "Thinks different" like the rest of the OS. Unfortunately, some of these changes are unintuitive and break existing functionality.

The changes currently overridden to "Think same" with every other platform are:

Holding ctrl will not cause left click to become right click
You can drop stacks with ctrl+q like on every other platform (cmd+q would just quit the game, so it was completely broken functionality)
The cmd key is not used for cut, copy, and paste shortcuts.[^1]

[^1]: This is a side-effect of the implementation of the other overrides. Fixing this would be possible, but would require extra effort to support all versions, and so is not worth the effort in my opinion. If someone would like to see this fixed, they are welcome to email me a patch or fork the mod themselves.

How to Install Think same on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Think same". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Think same server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Think same compatible with fabric?

Server lagging with Think same – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Think same consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
