About this Mod
3D Particles
Enhance your Minecraft experience with stunning 3D particles that replace vanilla visual effects, all while maintaining
excellent performance and customization.
Overview
This mod transforms Minecraft's default particles into immersive 3D versions, adding depth and realism to your game.
Designed with optimization in mind, it ensures smooth gameplay even with high particle counts, and offers extensive
customization options. Perfect for players who want visually appealing effects without compromising performance.
Key Features
- 3D Particle Replacements: Replaces vanilla particles—such as explosion, nether portal, end rod, and campfire
particles—with beautifully rendered 3D alternatives. - Outstanding Performance: Expertly optimized for minimal performance impact. In a stress test, rendering a massive
load of particles totaling 200,000 polygon faces resulted in a frame rate of ~280 FPS, measured from a high
baseline of ~1200 FPS. This means smooth visuals even in intense scenes. - Resource-Pack Based & Hot-Reloadable: All 3D particle models and textures are loaded via resource packs. This
means you can change particles without restarting the game—simply use theF3+Treload shortcut. - Highly Customizable: Adjust settings via a config file to enable/disable specific particles, modify density, size,
and behavior to suit your preferences. - Built-in Resource Pack: Includes an optional resource pack for enhanced campfire particles, adding extra realism
when enabled. - Adaptive Particle Count: Automatically adjusts the number of rendered particles based on system performance to
maintain gameplay. - Shaders Compatibility: Compatible with Iris Shaders, allowing you to combine 3D
particles with your favorite visual enhancements.
Currently Replaced Particles
- Explosion Particles: 3D debris and smoke effects for explosions.
- Nether Portal Particles: Swirling 3D purple particles for nether portals.
- End Rod Particles: Floating 3D specks for end rods.
- Campfire Particles: Smoky 3D embers for campfires (requires the built-in resource pack).
