timberrr!
Chop trees the way you'd actually chop them
About this Mod
About
The other tree felling mods didn't work exactly how I wanted so I made this to feel a bit more realistic. It lets you chip away at tree trunks from the side you're hitting and they topple in the direction of least remaining wood.
Details
- Each of the log's 6 sides has its own damage and you only chip the side you're hitting.
- Once any side is chopped through, the trunk above the cut falls over as an animated tree. The stump stays where it is.
- The tree falls toward the side that got hit the most (added up across the whole tree). If you chop from the north, it falls north. Circle around and chop the other side, and you'll push the fall the other way.
- Falling logs hurt mobs and players standing in the path.
- Logs drop their normal items where they land.
- If you stop chopping, the damage slowly heals (about 30 seconds per hit).
- Works on every tree, including modded ones (anything tagged as a log).
- Creative mode is unchanged (logs break instantly like vanilla).

timberrr! server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is timberrr! compatible with neoforge?
timberrr! officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with timberrr! – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if timberrr! consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
