About this Mod
Overview
Timesand is a high-stakes survival/roleplay mod that introduces a permanent death system tied to the mysterious sands of time.
Features
- Reworked Death System: Every death matters. Your first and second deaths trigger haunting cutscenes with randomized voice lines as time "rewinds" to bring you back. (/deathcount)
- Third Death: Upon your third death, the player is permanently teleported to a specific, configurable location (or dimension), effectively removing them from their current life.
- Blood Moon Events: A command-triggered event, that makes all deaths permanent for it's duration. (With cutscenes! Well. Somewhat "cutscenes".) (/bloodmoon)
- The Constant Sand Clock: An item that allows you to reset your death count. For now, only obtained via admin commands.
- Fully Configurable: Servers can toggle cutscenes, adjust death limits, and define exactly where players are "exiled" after their third death via gamerules and config files.
The mod is used on Eclipse, a hardcore roleplay server.
P.S. — the cutscenes and voice acting are only avalible in Russian for now
P.P.S — the loud music during the blood moon is configurable via AMBIENT sounds.

Timesand server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Timesand compatible with forge?
Timesand officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Timesand – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Timesand consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
