Trailblazer
Dirt Trails! Firewalker Boots! Vanilla-friendly footpaths!!
About this Mod
Trailblazer

Trailblazer is a Fabric minecraft mod that changes blocks as they are walked on by players and mobs.
By default, the mod enables two trailblazing effects:
Dirt Trails. As players and zombies walk on grass blocks, the grass will change to dirt and then to paths...unless you're going barefoot or wearing boots enchanted with Feather Falling.
Firewalker Boots. If you're wearing Netherite Boots enchanted with Fire Protection and Frost Walker, Lava blocks will change to cobblestone as you walk on them.
Features
- Does NOT add any new blocks to your world.
- Does NOT have to be installed on the client
- Fully customizable. Change the default effects or create your own.
- Mobs and players can leave trails
- Trails can be enabled or disabled depending on boots/enchants being worn
- Change any block to any other block
- Can work with boots and enchants from any other mod.

Trailblazer server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Trailblazer compatible with fabric?
Trailblazer officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.4, 1.20.2, 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Trailblazer – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Trailblazer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
