Unbeaten tree is a simple but game‑changing mod for Minecraft that makes one fundamental change: you cannot break wood logs with your bare hands. Any attempt to punch a tree will fail – the log instantly regenerates, no items drop, and you are left with nothing but a clear warning that a proper tool is required.

This small tweak transforms the very first minutes of survival. No longer can you start a new world by mindlessly punching an oak. Instead, you must scavenge, craft, and think your way to your first wooden log using only what the environment gives you.

How to get your first axe without wood?
The mod adds new early‑game mechanics to ensure you are never soft‑locked. You can obtain your first sticks and craft a special Flint Axe before ever touching a wooden log.

1. Sticks from leaves
   Breaking leaves by hand has a chance (around 40%) to drop an extra stick. The leaf itself drops as usual (or not at all if you lack shears – that is vanilla behaviour). By breaking just a few leaf blocks from the lowest branches of a tree, you can collect your first 1–2 sticks without any tools.

2. Flint Axe – your first wood‑cutting tool
   Once you have at least one stick, you need flint. Flint is obtained by digging gravel (found near water, in caves, or underground). Breaking gravel with your hand or a shovel has a chance to drop flint.

With 2 flint + 2 stick in any crafting grid (2×2 inventory or crafting table), you can craft a Flint Axe.!
