About this Mod
Underwater Torches
Does it also bother you that you can't place torches underwater?
This Mod fixes the problem!
Underwater Torches is a lightweight Fabric mod that allows you to place all types of torches underwater. Torches will stay lit and continue to emit light even when submerged!
Features:
- Place regular torches, soul torches, redstone torches, and all their wall variants underwater
- Torches emit their normal light level even when waterlogged
- Fully compatible with server and client – required on both sides
- Full Fabric 1.20.1 + 1.21.1 + 1.21.4 support
How it changes your experience:
- Light up ocean monuments, underwater caves, and shipwrecks with regular torches
- No more need for sea lanterns or glowstone just to see underwater
- Build underwater bases with proper torch lighting, just like on land
- Redstone torches work underwater too, enabling submerged redstone builds

Underwater Torch officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.4, 1.21.1, 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Underwater Torch – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Underwater Torch consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
