About this Mod
Veteran Difficulty
Designed for long-term players who think Minecraft is too easy. I made this mod for my own survival world and decided to publish it. It targets systems that fundamentally break the long-term fun of the game.
Current Features
One-Time Bed Spawn
- Beds only set spawn once for the entire server.
- The first successful bed use sets world spawn instead of a personal respawn point.
- After that, beds no longer change spawn points.
- Players only see the bed warning message while that one use is still available.
Dynamic Villager Trade Rerolls
- When a villager trade is exhausted, it is replaced with another random trade from the same profession and tier.
- This uses the live villager trade pool, so modded professions and modded trade additions are supported.
- The reroll avoids repeating the same offer when possible.
Undead Combat Changes
- Zombies move at double speed.
- Zombie hits apply Slowness for 5 seconds.
- Skeleton hits apply Weakness for 5 seconds.
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21
- NeoForge
- Server and singleplayer supported

Server lagging with Veteran Difficulty – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Veteran Difficulty consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
