About this Mod
Now you can control your VS: Eureka ship with gamepad !
VSE Gamepad Lite - with new features and more customizability !
- Now available on Forge, Fabric 1.18, 1.19 & 1.20.
- Pure client side - play multiplayer on servers.
- New Config options - enable/disable Gamepad, selectGamepad.
- Supports xbox, ps & generic gamepads.
Mappings:
ship movement - left joystick
ship ascend - button A on xbox / X on ps / 2 on generic
Note:
it only adds control for ship if you want full player control with gamepad you can use any other gamepad mods, tested with Controllable.
you can assign any gamepad button to ship descend and cruise by your choice using Controllable or MidnightControls.

How to Install VSE Gamepad Lite on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "VSE Gamepad Lite". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

VSE Gamepad Lite server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is VSE Gamepad Lite compatible with fabric and forge?
VSE Gamepad Lite officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.19.2, 1.18.2. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with VSE Gamepad Lite – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if VSE Gamepad Lite consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
