About this Mod
WaterLakesAreBack
A small Fabric Minecraft mod that returns water lakes after their removal in Minecraft 1.18.
They were removed because cave aquifers were doing good enough of a job at replacing them, but what if you have noise caves disabled by another mod?
- This mod also returns water lakes to deserts (they were removed from them in 1.6), although they are less likely to generate on the surface of them, even compared to lava lakes.
- Unfortunately water lakes don't generate exactly where they used to generate before, a lot of lake generation logic has changed.
- The mod is compatible with modded biomes, it also adds water lakes to them as well. It won't recognize modded deserts though.
- Unlike lava lakes, water lakes also generate within deepslate! Sorry, I just liked it this way, you can disable it, see Configuration below.
I made this mod because I really liked the Moderner Beta mod with its early release world generation, but it doesn't bring back water lakes, so I had to do it to complete the scenery.
Installation
Requires Minecraft 1.20.1, Fabric Loader >=0.14.25 and Fabric API.
Configuration
The mod cannot be configured, but technically you can modify properties like chance of occurrence (the less, the more common) if you unpack .json files from the data folder, modify them yourself and pack them back in.
