About this Mod
WellNet
WellNet is a lightweight client-side helper for players who want smoother Minecraft sessions in heavy modpacks. It watches connection and session health in the background, then uses safe client-side adjustments to keep the game responsive during world joins, chunk-heavy moments, and local hosting sessions.
What WellNet does
- Monitors session stability while you play.
- Watches for lag spikes, sudden load surges, and rough join moments.
- Smooths the first seconds after entering a world, when modpacks often stutter the most.
- Helps local hosts keep the client calmer while friends are connected.
- Uses separate Forge and Fabric files, so you can pick the exact jar for your Minecraft version.
- Gives a clearer
/wellnet statusoutput so you can quickly understand what the mod is doing.

WellNet server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is WellNet compatible with fabric and forge?
WellNet officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.4, 1.20.1, 1.19.2. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with WellNet – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if WellNet consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
