About this Mod
A small quality of life mod that changes/modifies niche aspects of core gameplay, as follows below:
Mobs:
- Wither Skeletons now spawn everywhere in the nether
- Wither Skeletons have their own spawn egg
- Wither Skeletons have a ~54% chance of dropping their skull without looting enchantment
- Each tier of looting adds an additional percentage point to the chance, ontop of the vanilla modifier. No looting has a 54.8% chance, while looting 3 has a chance of 56.4% + base % of around 2.6% + looting modifier.
- Wither Skeletons can spawn in groups of up to six.
Experience:
- Experience gain is capped at a flat 10 EXP per level, removing the exponential curve of vanilla.
Anvils and Smithing:
- Nothing can ever be "Too expensive!" anymore.
- Items have their NBT repair cost halved when repaired.
- Overall smithing cost for combining items is around 50-80% cheaper than vanilla.
I felt that the anvil changes were justified, considering Mending being way too overpowered in modern versions, allowing you to keep an item forever, but not every item as it will still cost you in materials. Experience is supposed to be an added benefit of doing mundane tasks, not a challenge, which is why I felt the need to have it changed to be a linear increase instead of exponential. Acquiring rare enchantments is already difficult enough, and since the XP curve was changed, doing a level 30 enchant no longer (on purpose) takes all 30 of your levels. Same with Wither Skeletons being excruciatingly rare making beacons almost unobtainable without hours of legitimate grind. Beacons are great to have, and since they are already limited by their effective range, I felt there need not be any other reason to limit a player's access to them. This mod was only meant for me, but a few friends expressed their interest with it too. Since I couldn't find anything similar to this online, and this being the first major update to include anvils, beacons, and the Wither boss, it feels necessary to upload it here. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
