BetterKoreanChat (BKC)

BetterKoreanChat is a Windows client-side mod for Minecraft Forge 1.8.9.

It fixes Korean/English switching, delayed Korean composition, and missing
characters in Minecraft text fields. It also provides configurable chat
appearance, keyboard layouts, player heads, and optional chat translation.

Installation and Usage

1. Install Forge for Minecraft 1.8.9.
2. Place BetterKoreanChat_v1.1.0_forge_1.8.9.jar in the mods folder.
3. Start Minecraft and use Right Alt to switch input modes by default.
4. Enter /bkc or /설정 to open the settings menu.

Privacy and Technical Information

• This mod supports Windows only.
• A low-level keyboard hook is used to prevent input loss during rapid typing.
• Keyboard input is processed only while Minecraft is focused and a text input UI is open.
• The Korean input system does not store or transmit typed text.
• Translation is performed only when the user clicks the Translate button.
• When translation is requested, the selected chat message is sent to Google Translate.
• A coremod transformer is used to support legacy Minecraft 1.8.9 text fields.
