The Better Wolf Companion Mod brings a host of thoughtful upgrades to improve your furry friends' functionality, survivability, and charm in Minecraft! Whether you’re exploring caves or defending your base, this mod ensures your wolves are always by your side and ready for anything.

Features

Portable Wolf Inventory

• Craft a stylish and functional Wolf Bag to grant your pet its own personal inventory storage.

Store food, items, and even unequip wolf armor directly in survival mode.

Self-Feeding And Adorable Item Rendering

• Wolves can automatically eat from their inventory to heal faster.

When wolves interact with items, they’ll also cutely hold them in their mouths.

Shake Off Hazards

• Wolves are no longer defenseless against poison and fire!

They’ll instinctively shake off fire and poison, keeping them safe from these environmental hazards.

Pet Summoning Whistle

• Never lose track of your loyal companions again!

The Summoning Whistle calls all your pet wolves to your side, even if they are sitting or stuck in tricky places like caves.

v1.0.0+ the whistle now allows you to despawn and respawn your wolves!

Immortal Loyalty

• Your wolves will never truly leave your side.

Wolves respawn when you sleep. Even if one dies while you’re away, it’ll still be saved for your next adventure.

v5.1.0+ sleep respawn was replaced with whistle respawn and a cooldown.

No More Friendly Fire

• Accidental hits are a thing of the past!

Wolves no longer take damage from the player’s attacks.

Your Friend In Need

• Wolves will now attempt to rescue the player and themselves with potions

Falling into lava or having critical health triggers the wolf to apply a fire resistance, regeneration or instant health potions.

Stronger With Every Fight

• The wolves attack damage increases with each level-up.

The wolf gains xp every time it kills a mob. Similar to the players level system, the wolf will require more and more xp for the next level up and resets upon death.

Usage

Press Right Click on the wolf pet while you sneak to open the wolf inventory.

Summon Far Away Wolves	An upgraded whistle that retrieves wolves even from unloaded chunks.	❌

Wolf XP System	Wolves gain experience from battles, increasing their bite damage with time. (XP resets upon death.)	✅
Fire/Lava rescue	As a life saving effort the wolf tries everything to apply a fire resistance potion on you if you find yourself in lava.	✅
Healing Potions	The wolf tries to apply healing potions while the player is in combat with low health.	✅
Totem of Undying	If the wolf has a totem of undying, a death cooldown gives the wolf a time window to apply it on you if close to you.	❌
Armor Upgrade	Enabled enchantments like mending and unbreaking for the wolf armor.	✅
Food Seeking Behavior	The wolf may pick up food that is laying around.	✅
Resource Search Skill	Put an item into another armor slot to let the wolf search for something related in the world.	❌
Better Defense Reaction	Let wolves attack before the player takes a hit.	✅
