Complicated Survival
This mod pack was inspired from the BTW mod pack and MITE mod pack.
About this Modpack
Have you ever played minecraft and thought that the progression was way too linear, simple but peaceful. Well not anymore. With this modpack, your average minecraft progression is taken to a completely different level (whether it's better or worse, you're the decider). This mod pack was inspired by BTW (Better Than Wolves) and MITE (Minecraft Is Too Easy), so if your not a hardcore player who loves challenges, you might have a tough time with this one.
Now,
Want to punch a tree to get wood ? too bad, you need an axe.
Want to explore ? Thirst and temperature will kill you if not careful enough.
Want to farm crops ? Seasons exist.
Want to eat meat to avoid crops ? Nutrition exists.
Want to stockpile on food ? Food spoils.
(unless placed in a shulker box. Barrels and netherrite tier backpacks have the slowest spoiling rate, then the diamond, gold, copper, iron backpack. Leather backpack and chest have the same spoil rate).
Want to fight mobs ? Mobs have rusted iron gear that can almost one shot you.
Want to go to the end ? Strongholds dont exist.
(you have to craft end portal frames. YOu can pull out eye of ender from end portal frame by using a pole and can even carry them, but not break them sadly.)
Now, all is not lost. Though at first glance this might look harsh and difficult but there are a couple of things that can make your life a bit easier. We have create mod to automate your daily tasks, butcher mod to harvest a lot more food, farmers delight for a lot of food variants, biomes o plenty for a variety of biomes to explore, carry on mod to help you carry stuff. (you can carry mobs of reasonable sizes and some blocks like chests, barrels, crafting table, furnace and a special block, end portal frames). We have a custom armor that has cool effects (well not for you to wear but you'll understand when you see diamond stuff). Enough spoilers, enjoy the modpack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Complicated Survival server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong forge loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Complicated Survival server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €7.800000000000001/month).
Can I add custom mods to Complicated Survival without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (forge) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Complicated Survival server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
