
Item Blocker
A client side mod that allows you to stop picking up items you don't want.
About this Mod
A client side mod with infinite customization that allows you to block pickups from certain items.
With Item Blocker, you can choose certain items you don't want to pick up, and those items won't be picked up untill you remove them from the menu.
How To Use?
Simply press K or your desired keybind, and enter the name/ID of an item in the text boxPreferably type item names using their IDs like this:
- minecraft:grass_block
But you can also enter vanilla items using their names, like this:
- Grass Block
- Grass_Block
- and any other orientation
Note: this only works with vanilla items, To add modded items, see below.
(All item names are converted to their IDs)
Additionally, this mod works with modded items.
To enter modded items, type the item's ID, like this:
- modname:itemname
For example, if I wanted to add the research table item from my mod Intelligence, I would type intelligence:research_table.
Some mods may use a different format but this is the usual format for most mods.
How To Find an Item ID?
You can find an Item ID in many ways.One way is by pressing F3 + H, and then hovering over the item in your inventory.
In the tooltip there should be a small piece of text saying minecraft:itemname, thats the Item ID.
What mode should I use?
This mod has two different modes:
Client side mode - Items are immediately dropped when picked up, and are always dropped untill they are removed from the menu
Server side mode - Items are not picked up at all, and stay on the ground, this mode requires the mod to be installed on the server to work

How to Install Item Blocker on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Item Blocker". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Item Blocker server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Item Blocker compatible with fabric?
Item Blocker officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Item Blocker – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Item Blocker consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
