About this Mod
Did you heard about Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks? Did you have moments you saw players, mobs, casting powerfull spells but... something was FEELING missing? Well this mod just might gives you the answer!
This small project was created in my free time as a student. If you like my projects, please consider to support me. This mod is a part of a bigger project to be released this year
I took some time off from studying/working, to create an ambitious modpack to test my skills as a game maker. If you are curious, I would appreciate it if you consider joining my Discord group that I have opened for it.

Important!
This mod is published only on Modrinth and CurseForge.
If you find it anywhere else, it is not an official upload by me, and downloading from those sites is unsafe.
Also important to mention: From version 1.1.0, the mod requires the use of Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks mod of version 3.15.0 or newer. Version 1.0.0 works and could be used for older ISAS versions.
Features:
This is a lightweight, client-side, cosmetic-only mod that renders magic circles when casting spells!
How does it work?
The mod uses several magic circle variants, each with a different size.
The variant is determined by the cast time of the spell:
Longer cast time → larger magic circle.
If a spell is cast instantly/doesn't have a cast time, then no magic circle would be displayed for it. The color is dynamically chosen based on the spell’s class (orange for fire, light blue for ice, dark purple for abyss, etc.). The position of the magic circle is also affected by the chosen variant.
Magic circles are displayed for any entity that is casting and only clients with the mod installed will see them.
(2026-05-31) 1.2.0 Update:
Oculus shaders support and many other bug fixes. This has been released as a new version because most of the mod has been re-written. I have updated the gallery to showcase how the latest version of the mod looks in vanilla and also with shaders, using the new default config.
Also there is now a Discord server for this mod. It would also be used for other mods i would make soon.
Check out the project GitHub for full changelog.
Cant believe it reached 10k downloads on Modrinth. TY for downloading!
Compabillity:
The mod was built with care to remain compatible with other ISAS addons.
If you find any incompatibilities, please open an issue on my GitHub and I will look into it.
Shaders compatibility - version 1.2.0 should support most Oculus shaders. Tested with:
- Complementary Shaders - Unbound
- AstraLex Shaders
- Bliss Shaders
- Photon Shader
- Solas Shader
- UShader
Multiplayer compatibility - Tested using Essential mod, it should be compitable in multiplayer worlds and minecraft servers as well.

Does Magic Circles - ISAS Addon need to be installed on the Minecraft server?
No. Modrinth marks Magic Circles - ISAS Addon as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.
Which version and loader does Magic Circles - ISAS Addon require?
Use a file for forge and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 1.20.1. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.
Magic Circles - ISAS Addon is not working – what should I check?
First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
