More Barrel Variants

Fill your builds with colourful storage: Now each wood type has its own Barrel.

Adding 11 new Barrels to Minecraft.

These barrels can also be crafted using Nemo's Woodcutter¹.

How can I craft vanilla Barrels using modded wood types from Biomes o' Plenty, [Let's Do] mods, and others?

Unfortunately, the vanilla Barrel crafting recipe has to be overridden for the crafting of the variants to function.

But usually these mods add their wood types to the Vanilla recipe, which creates a conflict. Fortunately, there is also a fairly easy way around this issue.

That is what the "More Compatibility Variants" are for:
These datapacks/mods resolve this issue across all of our "More X Variants" mods, so you can craft barrels and other vanilla items/blocks just as you would expect.

Compatible with Quad 1.3.0+'s block replacement:

Looking at the fisher cottage of a Savanna Village: We can see that instead of Spruce Barrels, Oak Torches and regular Composter, the game now generates the village with Acacia Barrels, Acacia Torches (from More Torch Variants) and an Acacia Composter (from More Composter Variants).

How to Install More Barrel Variants on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.2).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "More Barrel Variants". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is More Barrel Variants compatible with fabric?

More Barrel Variants officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.2, 26.2-rc-2, 26.2-rc-1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with More Barrel Variants – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if More Barrel Variants consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
