About this Mod

ParaMax is a client-side performance mod that cares a bit less about the FPS value in your F3 and more about the smoothness & actual feeling of the game. Mod goes after the stutters, lag spikes, and uneven pacing that make a gameplay feel rough.
You're in Control
Everything here is a toggle, all settings are adjustable live from the Mod Menu configuration screen.
Presets
In case you don't want to touch every setting there are three preset buttons at the top of the config screen:
- Potato PC - you get fewer particles, shorter view distances for entities. This is the only preset which has a governor that watches your FPS and downgrades things further when your PC is struggling, then eases back off once it's not.
- Balanced preset - good preset with small tradeoffs.
- Lossless Defaults - nothing you can see changes, but the invisible work carries on: frame pacing is still smoothing out your game. So this isn't ParaMax doing nothing - it's doing everything that costs you nothing visually. This is how the mod ships, so a fresh install never changes how your game looks, and the button doubles as your config reset for a mod.
Presets aren't modes - they are just set of the same toggles and sliders you can change yourself. Pick one, then tweak whatever you want. Frame pacing stays on in all of them. Comfortable and smooth gameplay is the whole point.

Does ParaMax need to be installed on the Minecraft server?
No. Modrinth marks ParaMax as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.
Which version and loader does ParaMax require?
Use a file for fabric and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 26.3, 26.2, 26.1.2. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.
ParaMax is not working – what should I check?
First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
