About this Mod

Particle Culling

A client-side Fabric mod for Minecraft that allows you to block individual particle types in-game via Cloth Config and Mod Menu. Blocking heavy or unnecessary particles (like potion effect swirls, area effect clouds, explosion particles, etc.) helps to significantly increase game performance (FPS) and clean up visual clutter.

Features

  • Dynamic Particle Registry: Lists all registered particles dynamically (including those added by other mods!).
  • Quick Controls: Disable or enable all particles in one click.
  • Custom Selection: Fine-tune exactly which particles to block and which to keep rendering.
  • Improved FPS: Prevents rendering of blocked particle types completely.

Requirements

  • Minecraft
  • Fabric Loader
  • Fabric API
  • Cloth Config API (Included / Required)
  • Mod Menu (Highly Recommended to access config screen)

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Particle Culling need to be installed on the Minecraft server?

No. Modrinth marks Particle Culling as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.

Which version and loader does Particle Culling require?

Use a file for fabric and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.

Particle Culling is not working – what should I check?

First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
