Substrate
Optimization of the bottom and/or top layer(s) of the world
About this Mod

Requires Sodium (or Embeddium^).
Small optimization by removing the invisible sides of the bottom/ top layer of the world. For the player, these sides are visible only when necessary. (The bottom layer of polygons in the Overworld will be deleted, and the bottom and top layers in the Nether). While the mod is themed around Bedrock, the mod makes no actual checks for block type and can provide a benefit even on floating island worlds (such as mini game servers!)
^Only on NeoForge 1.20.x, or the Special Embeddium build for 1.21.1

Does Substrate need to be installed on the Minecraft server?
No. Modrinth marks Substrate as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.
Which version and loader does Substrate require?
Use a file for fabric, neoforge, quilt and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.
Substrate is not working – what should I check?
First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
