Not at all! All mods in Feather are 100% client-side, so you can safely join vanilla or multiplayer servers without any compatibility issues.

Can I add more mods?

Absolutely. Feather is designed to be modular, so feel free to add more mods as long as they’re compatible with your chosen loader. However, we cannot guarantee support for all mods!

Does Feather include OptiFine?

Nope — but that’s a good thing! Feather uses modern, better-performing alternatives like Iris (for shaders), Sodium (for FPS boosts), and Dynamic Lights to replicate and even improve on the OptiFine experience.

Will this boost my FPS?

Yes, for almost everyone! Feather includes performance-focused mods like Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, and more — especially helpful for lower-end machines or laptop users.

Can I use shaders with Feather?

How to Set Up a Feather | Lightweight Vanilla+ Modpack Server

Order Server

Choose at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended for Feather | Lightweight Vanilla+ Modpack). Based on player count: per 8 players.

Install Modpack in Dashboard

Open the modpack browser in the dashboard, search for "Feather | Lightweight Vanilla+ Modpack" and click "Install". The fabric loader and Minecraft 1.21.5 are configured automatically.

Start Server & Play
