Overview

This mod allows players to compress multiple blocks into a single block or multiple items into an item crate, saving
space in the world.
The compressed variants can store up to 9 blocks/items of the same type, and with multiple levels of compression, a
single compressed variant can hold as many as 3,486,784,101 blocks or items.
This allows players to store vast quantities of blocks/items in a single block.
The compressed block can be decompressed to retrieve the original blocks, making it a versatile tool for building and
storage purposes.
Currently, the mod offers 264 different types of compressed blocks and 179 types of crates.

Installation

  1. Download the mod from CurseForge
    or Modrinth.
  2. Install Minecraft Forge or Fabric Loader + Fabric API.
  3. Place the downloaded mod file into the mods' folder.
  4. Launch Minecraft and enjoy!

Usage

Crafting compressed blocks:

  1. Open the vanilla crafting table.
  2. Place 9 of the desired blocks in a 3x3 crafting grid to create a compressed block.
  3. Craft the compressed block.

To decompress a block:

  1. Place the compressed block either in the player's crafting inventory or a crafting table.
  2. The compressed block will decompress back into its original nine blocks.

How to Install CB: Compressed Blocks on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.5).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "CB: Compressed Blocks". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Frequently Asked Questions

CB: Compressed Blocks server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.5). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is CB: Compressed Blocks compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?

CB: Compressed Blocks officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.5, 1.21.4, 1.21.3. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with CB: Compressed Blocks – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if CB: Compressed Blocks consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
