Forge server hosting: modpacks and installation

Forge is a mod loader for Minecraft Java. Choose it when your mods or modpack explicitly require Forge. NeoForge is a separate platform; always check the specific pack release.

Choose the modpack and loader together

Record the full pack name, pack version, Minecraft version and loader first. Similar names can refer to different Forge, Fabric or NeoForge editions. Identify the official author and project ID. Download counts alone do not verify identity or dedicated server support.

Install CurseForge and Modrinth packs

Mado supports both sources through the modpack browser. Premium includes the browser; on Budget it is an add-on. After ordering, open your server, select the correct provider and verify the project and release. Back up the world and configuration before replacing an installation. Manual uploads require the author’s complete server distribution.

Investigate startup failures

Start with the first relevant error in the startup log. Missing dependencies, the wrong Java version and incompatible loaders are different failure classes from insufficient memory. Increase RAM when the evidence supports it. Keep the last working pack release and a world backup; changing releases can affect world content.

Check before ordering, then set up safely

  1. Check whether your pack requires Forge or NeoForge. These names identify different loaders; follow the requirements of the exact pack release.
  2. Back up the world and configuration. For manual installation, use the author’s server files and matching Java version; a client export is not automatically a server distribution.
  3. First test the unchanged mod list with a matching client. Read release notes before updating and keep the previous matching pack and world for recovery.

The 4 GB offer below is a configuration example. World size, view distance, plugins and mods determine actual requirements. Select the software in the dashboard after provisioning and check the first startup.
