What is this mod?

Lithium is an expansion mod which adds new content, including 13 new items, one of which is a raw resource, 15 alternate recipes and 3 new buildings.

The main star of the mod is a new resource - Lithium, unlocked at Tier 7! Even though it is a solid resource you can't collect it by hand or using regular miners - as an alkali Lithium is reactive with planet's atmosphere. For that purpose, a new resource extractor, Reactive Ore Extractor makes its debut. It works like a regular Miner but also requires fuel in the form of Packaged Petroleum Ether made from different kinds of liquid fuel.

Explore a new branch of FICSIT's production which focuses on making lightweight, flexible and power-efficient resources. Including nanotechnoloigies.


Why use this mod?

Beside the obvious reasons of using new alternate recipes to decrease cost of vanilla recipes, there are more things that may attract you in this mod:
- Doesn't alter vanilla content - Speaks for itself, and it is also fully compatible with other vanilla-friendly expansions like [Refined Power](ficsit.app/mod/RefinedPower)!
- Jetpack Mk. 2 - 25% more powerful and 25% more-fuel efficient. If you install the mod only for it I would understand :3
- Addition of two new space elevator parts - In savegame session settings you have an option to add new space elevator parts to phases 4 and 5 requirements. Disabled by default, but if you want some refreshes in your playthrough - feel free to enable them!
- New Drone fuel types: Two of the items also work as a fuel for Drones - both of them are faster than Rocket Fuel and the last one is as efficient as Ionized Fuel.
- A new way to get rid of Dark Matter Residue: Feeling like you have to waste Dark Matter Crystals by sinking them? Worry not, a new building and a new item will help you deal with the issue more resourcefully!

New items

Tier 6:
Petroleum Ether - a translucent liquid made out of fuel. Used to contain Lithium in Reactive Ore Extractors.
Tier 7:
Insulated Lithium - Reactive Ore Extractors outputs it instead of a raw Lithium Ore which can't be collected in any other way.
Ceramics - Material reinforcer and a decent semiconductor
Lightweight Modular Frame - A sibling of Heavy Modular Frame made using Lithium
Tier 8:
Lithium Battery - A modified version of battery, Drones fueled with them are faster than the ones using Rocket Fuel for the purpose
Reinforced Aluminum Plate - Able to survive extreme conditions
Versatile Accumulator - Space Elevator Part #L1. A battery for extreme conditions. Can also be used as a Drone fuel - as efficient as Ionized Fuel!
Tier 9:
Graphene Rod - Made in Converter from Lithium and Coal
Dark Matter Concentrate - Concentrated Dark Matter Residue which can be used as a fuel for a power plant called Energy Disperser.
Quantum Chip - Speaks for itself. Small and simple yet posseses colossal computing power.
Nano Motor - a very lightweight and tiny sibling of Turbo Motor. Or rather hundreds of them.
Nanite Block - Space Elevator Part #L2. Nanobots for maintaining Project Assembly when it launches.

Compatibility

1. Resource node locations have been checked to not collide with Refined Power and Ficsit Farming mods, so you are safe to use the mod with any of those
2. Mod works with [No Portable Miners Redux](https://ficsit.app/mod/NPMRedux) as expected.

Known issues

1. Some things, mostly related to buildings, may not look polished at the moment.

Furure content

- Jetpack Mk.2 is going to be rebranded into a Lightweight Jetpack since other "Lightweight" series equipment will be added (Hoverpack, Xeno-basher, Blade Runners, maybe gas mask and hazmat suit too)
- A potential Versatile Accumulator recipes rework.
- Someone makes a big mod which will be using Lithium's items for its late-game content...

[EasyAlt Recipes](https://ficsit.app/mod/EasyAltRecipes): Most of the balancing has been made with this mod in mind. I highly recommend playing with it to consistently get progressively better recipes throughout your playthrough.
