Getting Started

You can install the mod at any point in your playthrough,
but the earlier you add it,
the more you'll be able to take advantage of the research-time-shortening feature.

The HUB and MAM queueing functionality are available immediately upon installing the mod.

You can queue milestones or nodes by dragging and dropping them into the queue via their pointing-hand-icon handles, and they can be reordered the same way.

Researchers

In order to automatically supply items to your research,
you must construct Researcher buildings.

They require power to operate.
Their power connectors allow more than one connection,
so you can daisy-chain between Researcher machines.

You can unlock your first Researcher in Tier 0 of the HUB.
Depending on how you started your save file,
it might already be unlocked for free.

You can supply Researchers with items via belt,
manually insert them at the building,
or insert them remotely from the HUB terminal.

Reseachers can store 500 of an item per slot,
regardless of its normal stack size.
Watch out - the base game does not expect slots to be this big.
Look at the tooltips for information on how to transfer items
out of these slots without voiding some on accident.

Fluid Researchers are unlocked in Tier 3 of the HUB,
which allows directly submitting Liquids and Gases toward research.
Nog's Research adds a few Milestones that use fluids,
but it is up to other mods to implement more fluid researches.

Science Power

As you construct more Researchers,
your Science Power will increase.

Science Power scales non-linearly with a reduction in how long research takes.
You can see how much Science Power you have,
and how much it reduces the wait time,
in the HUB UI.

This time reduction only applies to queued research!

The "delivery ship" will still return at its normal time,
and the "Launch" button will not open until it returns,
but queued research is allowed to start before the ship returns.

Research Accelerators

Although Research Accelerators can't accept items from belts,
they have a lot of internal inventory slots,
and they contribute a lot of Science Power.

They're useful for further boosting Science Power,
and for storing uncommonly used items that you would otherwise end up submitting manually.

Multiplayer Compatibility Notes

Unfortunately, multiplayer compatibility still needs more work, but the mod will work without crashing in multiplayer.

To summarize, clients can't conveniently manually submit items toward queued researches,
but they can still view and edit the queue,
as well as construct and operate the research buildings.

- Clients must interact with a researcher building in the world before they can remotely access its inventory from the HUB
- Clients don't get accurate info on if researchers are out of power
- Clients can't manually interact with the MAM queue inventory

Known Bugs

- See the Multiplayer Compatibility Notes section
- The Researcher storage slots have a custom size of 500 - when taking out items directly your personal inventory, you should use Take All or shift click, because dragging will void items.
- Fluid Researchers will not graphically update their displayed fluid count (in response to being taken by the research system) until fluid flow changes or they are interacted with.
- It's possible to get duplicate entries in the queues by reordering items. They should correct themselves as researches complete.
- Schematic Dependency Tree viewing in the HUB is inconsistent, but vanilla and modded schematics very rarely use this feature regardless.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nog's Automated Research not working after update – what to do?

After a Satisfactory update, mods need to be updated. Check ficsit.app whether Nog's Automated Research has been updated for the new game version. With Mado Hosting: open the mod manager and click "Update All". If the mod hasn't been updated yet, temporarily remove it so the server starts.

Nog's Automated Research causing crashes in multiplayer – solution

Most common cause: all players must have exactly the same mod version installed. Check server logs for "ModMismatch" or "Version Conflict". Ensure all players use Nog's Automated Research v1.6.1 and the same SML. With Mado Hosting, Satisfactory servers run with 6 GB RAM for stable multiplayer performance.

Is Nog's Automated Research compatible with other Satisfactory mods?

Nog's Automated Research uses the Satisfactory Mod Loader (SML). Generally, SML-based mods are cross-compatible, but mods modifying the same game systems can cause conflicts. Test new mod combinations on a backup save. The Mado dashboard automatically detects known conflicts and warns you.
