Simply Legacy is a modpack designed to bring the experience of Minecraft's Legacy Console Edition to a more up-to-date version of the game, acting as a vision of what the game would've looked like if it continued to get content updates to this day.

All the Bells and Whistles!*

Thanks to mods such as Legacy4J and Minimega, everything from the washed-out (if desired) gamma, easy to navigate crafting interface, and controller input, to the Texture Packs, Skin Packs, Mash-Up Worlds and Mini Games, are all accessible right out of the box!

As of writing, features contributing to the "complete experience" (i.e. working tutorial system, console-style global achievements) are being considered or are already under development.

Don't worry, the features mentioned above are 100% playable!

Nice and Speedy!

With the help of some of Minecraft's best optimization mods, we've been able to squeeze out performance that far exceeds what the vanilla game gives you, and maintains the "Always 60FPS" vision of LCE (with even more frames to spare!)

Updates, Updates, Updates!

Whenever a major functional part of the modpack is updates, whether it be a resource pack or gameplay mod, we ready ourselves to do the same. Though, not everything will be guaranteed an update within the pack if it breaks functionality, so our update strategy is quick and simple, yet remains methodical.

Built-in Servers! (should i mace him?)

Simply Legacy comes with servers from the Re-Console Network built-in! Whether you want to chill out (or not) in Survival, build in Creative, or let loose in Anarchy, there's always room for play, with a very vibrant community of players, and frequent updates for your convenience and enjoyment!

Free and Open Source!

Simply Legacy is comprised of only open-source or source-available mods, giving you the ability to see the code and contribute to the mods in the pack. The modpack itself (config files and project info) is available on our Forgejo instance as a packwand project.

• WilyIcaro for developing the Legacy4J mod, which this pack wouldn't be possible without, along with developing the Legacy World Sizes mod
• Jab125 for developing Minimega, the mod used to provide LCE-style Mini Games
• creepereater201 for many of the major feature contributions between Legacy4J and Minimega
• Technocality for hosting the backend infrastructure used for Minimega Matchmaking and git development, as well as maintaining the now deprecated Re-Console Lite, the project Simply Legacy replaces
• omo50 for developing packwand, a modpack development suite akin to and forked from packwiz, assisting in configuration work, and creating Re-Console
• mzov_jen for the Programmer Art Continuation Project, used to bring the classic textures to the modern day
• BrandonItaly, RedRain0o0 and chillyzone for providing most of the LCE mash-up and texture packs
• RedRain0o0, for porting and working on the How To Play menu for greater than 1.14+, along with providing a datapack to re-introduce the disc hunt minigame into the mash-up worlds.
• DexrnZacAttack for making PackItUp, the automatic modpack update publisher formerly used to publish Simply Legacy
