About this Mod

JourneyMap

Real-time mapping in game or in a web browser as you explore.

JourneyMap is a client+server mod for Forge, Fabric, and Quilt which maps your Minecraft world in real-time as you
explore. You can view the map in a web browser or in-game as a Minimap or full-screen.

Note: Server currently is for controlling journeymap features from the server, no mapping is done on the server at this time. JourneyMap needs to be on the client if anything is to be displayed.

Server and Client Optional means, Clients can connect to servers that do not have JourneyMap on the server side, Clients without JourneyMap can connect to servers that have the mod installed on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

JourneyMap server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is JourneyMap compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge and paper and quilt?

JourneyMap officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, paper, quilt for Minecraft 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with JourneyMap – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if JourneyMap consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
