LazyFluids
Optimizes fluid performance by halting lava and water ticks far away from players.
About this Mod
Lazy Fluids is a lightweight performance optimization mod for servers and singleplayer worlds. It prevents fluids (like water and lava) from ticking far away from players, reducing unnecessary chunk updates and improving TPS.
When there are no players nearby, fluid blocks "go to sleep" — they don’t update, drip, or flow. But as soon as a player enters the area, fluids instantly "wake up" and resume normal behavior. Everything happens seamlessly, without breaking Minecraft physics.
This mod is especially useful for:
- Large farms with fluid use
- Lava lakes or ocean bases
- Modded fluids that tick frequently
- Multiplayer servers with chunk loaders
✅ Fully server-side
✅ Compatible with Sodium, Lithium, Phosphor, etc.
✅ No configuration needed — plug and play
✅ Supports Minecraft 1.20.1 (Fabric)
Use Lazy Fluids to reduce idle fluid lag and keep your server running smooth.

LazyFluids server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is LazyFluids compatible with fabric?
LazyFluids officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with LazyFluids – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if LazyFluids consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
