About this Mod

Retro Damage Indicators brings back the classic modded Damage Indicator look and feel to modern Minecraft.
This mod is highly configurable and the position, opacity, size, display and more of the Retro Damage Indicator on the screen can be adjusted. This mod is client side only and does not need to be installed on the server to be used.
Alongside a portrait of a mob and the health and name boxes is displayed the mob type. This includes arthropods, animals, illagers, undead, bosses and more. It is also compatible with creatures from other mods:
Alongside the damage indicator rendered on the player's HUD, injured mobs will produce a particle indicating how much damage they have taken when hurt, or how much they have regained when healed. This feature can also be toggled in the config.
This mod is made for modpacks in mind, so please feel free to use it in them!

Does Retro Damage Indicators need to be installed on the Minecraft server?
No. Modrinth marks Retro Damage Indicators as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.
Which version and loader does Retro Damage Indicators require?
Use a file for forge, neoforge and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 1.20.1. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.
Retro Damage Indicators is not working – what should I check?
First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
