Fabric server hosting: mods and compatible versions
Fabric is a mod loader for Minecraft Java. A shared modded server needs matching Minecraft, loader and required mod versions. Client-only graphics mods do not belong on the server.
Fabric, Paper or Forge?
Choose based on the mods you want to play. A Fabric mod needs a Fabric-compatible release; Forge files are not interchangeable. Many mods also require Fabric API. Paper plugins do not run directly on the Fabric loader. For a modpack, follow its requirements instead of selecting loader and Minecraft versions independently.
Install mods and join together
Create a Fabric server, stop it and install the required server mods and dependencies. For modpacks, use the author’s server distribution or the modpack installer. Players should install the same pack release on their clients. For connection errors, compare version numbers and startup logs first. Do not remove content mods from an existing world without a backup.
Understand client-side optimization
A graphics and FPS pack may only run on the client. That does not create a dedicated server distribution for the pack. Check the project’s server compatibility before ordering. Client optimization can improve rendering, while server tick problems need a separate diagnosis.
