About this Modpack

OptiFinium

Thanks for checking out OptiFinium! OptiFinium is a Modpack that implements all of OptiFines features, aswell as improving them.

Whats so special about it then? Why can't I just get Fabulously Optimized? Or any other Modpack that implements OptiFines features?

OptiFinium attempts to update to the very latest versions of Minecraft as soon as possible, even if it removes certain features. Fabulously Optimized takes some time to update because it tries to keep every feature once it updates. Core Features of OptiFine like Zoom, Dynamic Lights, and Optimization will try to be kept however, so that it still feels like you are using OptiFine, just without the niche features like Better Resource Pack Capabilities that allow you to change the Skybox, Entity Models, among other stuff. OptiFinium is also focusing on being strictly a OptiFine alternative, Fabulously Optimized adds Controller Support, among other things that suppost to ease in Players from a different version of Minecraft to Java easier. If you just want a OptiFine alternative to build off of, that updates quickly, go with OptiFinium. If you are a newer Java player that is worried of not easing into Java all that well, go with Fabulously Optimized.

Each Update of the Modpack will attempt to implement the following OptiFine Features:

  • Zoom
  • Significantly Better Performance
  • Shaders
  • Dynamic Lights
  • Fog Control (You can adjust the Fog to however you want in Sodium Extra settings.)
  • Better Grass
  • Configurable Details
  • Configurable Animations
  • Custom Capes
  • Increased Render Distance
More Resource Pack features
  • Connected Textures
  • Custom Entity Models
  • Emissive, Random, and other Texture features for Entities
  • CIT (1.20.1 + 1.21.1. 1.21.4 and later has this mostly implemented in Vanilla)
  • Change Hardcoded Colors

OptiFinium also has features that are not in OptiFine:

  • Improved Server performance (Local, or Servers that have the Modpack installed)

Frequently Asked Questions

OptiFinium server crashes or won't start – what to do?

Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 6 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.

How much RAM does a OptiFinium server really need?

Minimum 4 GB, recommended 6 GB for stable performance. per 8 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €5.2/month).

Can I add custom mods to OptiFinium without conflicts?

Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (26.2). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.

OptiFinium server lagging – performance tips

1) Increase RAM to 6 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
