ArchaicFix
Swiss army knife of bugfixes and performance improvements for MC 1.7.10
About this Mod
ArchaicFix implements a number of bugfixes and optimizations for Minecraft 1.7.10. Please see the README on GitHub for a more complete list, but here are a few highlights:
- Removes/reduces the infamous client-side stuttering in 1.7.10, particularly in biomes with many light updates like jungles
- Backport of the Phosphor lighting engine (the original repository is no longer available, this link leads to my 1.12 fork which is the closest to the original, and still has the original branch)
- An improved version of occlusion culling (not compatible with OF/FC, and thus disabled by default)
- Threaded chunk updates (reduces stutter when placing blocks, also not compatible with OF/FC & disabled by default)
- Many other fixes for various vanilla issues
Additionally, ArchaicFix patches a few common annoyances in other mods.
Newer versions of ArchaicFix require a GTNHMixins-compatible mixin loader like UniMixins to be installed.

ArchaicFix server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.7.10). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is ArchaicFix compatible with forge?
ArchaicFix officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.7.10. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with ArchaicFix – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if ArchaicFix consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
