Colormatic
Enables resource packs to add and change block and biome colors.
About this Mod
Overview
Colormatic is a mod that allows resource packs to customize hard coded colors in Minecraft. Using Colormatic, resource packs can change the colors of
- Swamp, dark oak, and other grass
- Birch and spruce leaves
- Water
- Sky and fog
- Particles
- Crops
- Dyes
- Lightmaps
- ... and more!
Colormatic implements the functionality of the custom colors mod on Fabric, and is compatible with resource packs that use Optifine's custom colors feature.
Resource Pack Artists
If your resource pack uses Optifine custom colors, then that part of it should automatically work with Colormatic. However, Colormatic offers additional abilities that don't have a counterpart in Optifine, including
- Support for modded and datapack biomes and dimensions
- Stackable biome colormaps
- Custom biomes in
gridformat colormaps - Loading JSON from the
colormatic:colormaplocation
Check out the GitHub wiki for information on how to use these features.

Does Colormatic need to be installed on the Minecraft server?
No. Modrinth marks Colormatic as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.
Which version and loader does Colormatic require?
Use a file for fabric, quilt and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 1.20.1, 1.19, 1.18.2. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.
Colormatic is not working – what should I check?
First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
